The Al Maktoum Foundation have supported the Angel Appeal since her inception in 2007. Their sustained support of $ 50,000 a year has been invaulable to us and we are incredibly grateful that they have increased their donation this year to an amazing $ 80,000! We would like to thank them for their continued support!

Smit Lamnalco, a leading provider of towage and associated marine services to the oil and gas industries, is donating $50,000 this year and again in 2013 to the Flying Angel, the first purpose-built seafarers support vessel in the world. Vivek Seth, Managing Director, Middle East & Indian Subcontinent - “Seafarers are the lifeline of any sea borne trade and their wellbeing is imperative. We are glad to be able to contribute to Flying Angel and support such a just cause. ”

“Seafarers endure long periods of isolation. They are cut off from family and friends and unable to enjoy shore leave,” said Andrew Brown, Smit Lamnalco Group Business Development Manager.   “We are only too happy to help offer them the things that we take for granted. These can help change their lives at sea. Virtually all imports into the United Arab Emirates come by sea so there is a clear need to support the seafarers who are responsible for bringing these in.”

The Angel Appeal is delighted that the National Bank of Fujairah has donated AED 100,000 towards the fuel of The Flying Angel.  It is so exicting to have them on board as a silver sponsor!  The funds will towards fuelling the "Flying Angel". Alan Maitland Smith - Head of Internal Audit and Chairman of NBF's CSR Committee said that the sponsorship is a natural extension of the Bank's commitment to its home emirate: "Fujairah's success as a shipping and oil bunkering hub is well established.  What is perhaps less well-known is the living conditions of seafarers who have contributed to its achievements: many of them are unable to come ashore and have limited access to material comforts or communication facilities for contacting families back home.  Just as NBF is proud to play a role in Fujairah's economic achievements, we are glad to partner Angel Appeal in their efforts and will work closely with them to extend a helping hand to those in need."
